Kobi’s long explanation of the human race and the difference between guys and girls took long into afternoon and lasted until the evening. “Okay I think I finally got everything.” Said Kim with a smile. “Thank god.” Kobi said in relief. “Whose god?” “No no more questions or anything for tonight I’m tired and starving I didn’t even get a chance to eat breakfast today.” “I don’t get you humans your so small and yet you need to eat so much.” “Like I said no more questions or explanations today.” “Fine lets just go get you something to eat.” Kim picked Kobi up and walked to the fridge just as soon as they heard the door open. “Kobi I’m home sorry it took so long” Heather walked into the kitchen and saw Kim with Kobi sitting on her shoulder. “….This is not good” Heather said with her jaw dropped “I’m sorry Heather I tried to hide but she found me.” “I don’t get what the big deal is not like he’s dangerous or has some disease or something.” Kim said scratching her head. “Kim don’t you remember the rules when Missy took me to see the elders one of the main rules was if a little one comes into the valley they must either be taking as a prisoner for the rest of their life or killed and I don’t want either of those to happen to Kobi.” Kobi’s face quickly turned from happy to horrified. “W w what do you m m mean if I get caught ill get k k killed.” “Don’t worry about it Kobi I know Kim isn’t going to tell anyone and I’m not gonna let anyone get you.” Heather picked Kobi off Kim’s shoulder and held him close to her trying to comfort him. “Besides it not like anyone is just gonna enter our house without permission.” “I really really hope your right.” Kim looked at them both and started to get teary eyed. “I’m really sorry you guys I shouldn’t have come in here when you weren’t home.” “Its okay Kim its not like you knew I had Kobi in here and you didn’t do any harm just remember you can’t tell anyone at all not even Missy.” “Right well I better get going I’ve done enough damage here already” “Don’t think like that its not that bad think about it this way now when I’m busy Kobi wont have to be lonely and now he can come with me when I go to meet you.” “Yea Kim it kinda gets boring being here all by myself in this house.” Kobi said with a smile trying to cheer her up. Kim smiled and wiped her eyes. “Yeah I guess your right so we are still on for lunch tomorrow with the girls right.” “I’m looking forward to it goodnight Kim.” “Goodnight Heather goodnight Kobi.” Kim waved goodbye and walked back to her house. “Ugh my head today has been a long day.” Kobi said as he rubbed his temples and leaned back against Heather. “Well my day was pretty good I met the elders and had lunch with Missy.” “Oh yea how was that.” “Good I learned a lot about how things work around here.” “You can fill me in later right now I just want to eat and sleep.” “Sounds good to me.” Heather said with a giggle. So the couple sat down and had their dinner did their training and went to bed ready for the next day.

Kim was walking back to her house still troubled about what had happened that evening. She even forgot her way to her house and found herself walking from home to home not even realizing where she was going until she ran into a shadowy figure. “Kim is that you what are you doing alone this late at night.” Said a smug sounding almost harsh voice. “Huh oh sorry Angel I just had my mind on other things.” Angel stepped into the light with a questioning look on her face. Angel was a girl about Heathers height she had long brown hair dark blue eyes and a slender figure. Infact in the right light some people might think that Heather and Angel were twins. “You have a guilty look like you did or saw something bad,” said Angel with a smirk. “did you get into a fight or steal something come on tell me what you did.” Angel said as she walked towards Kim. “I I I didn’t do anything honest.” “You’re a bad liar Kim either you tell me or I force it out of you.” “You wouldn’t d dare.” “Watch me.”

Heather and Kobi were both getting ready to go out into town for the day. “Alright I’m all set Kobi ready to go back into hiding.” “Ready as ill ever be.” Heather picked Kobi up and put him back down her shirt and set out for town. On the way she stopped at Missy’s house and then they proceeded to go to Kim’s house. “I don’t think she’s home.” Missy said after knocking on the door for a minute “That doesn’t seem right Kim seemed so excited to go to lunch today.” “Maybe she had last minute plans or something.” “Yea I guess your right well it looks like its just me and you today Heather.” The two of them continued to walk but Kobi seemed troubled. “Something doesn’t seem right.” Kobi thought to himself. “Why would Kim just disappear out of nowhere she didn’t give us any warning or notice not even a note on her door it makes no sense.” Kobi continued to think and wonder all through lunch and even back at home. “Hey Heather I think we should go to Kim’s house and investigate.” “I’m sure she’s fine Kobi she probably was just sick and needed some rest.” “Maybe your right I’m just not so sure.” Just then they heard a knock on the door. “Ill get it Kobi hide under something.” Kobi nodded as Heather walked to the door. Kobi waited under an upside down cup as Heather came back with a note and picked Kobi up from his hiding place. “See Kobi I told you Kim was fine she sent me a letter saying she’s sorry she missed lunch and wants us to come to her house for dinner.” “Okay well let’s get going” Heather put Kobi back in his hiding spot and walked to Kim’s house. Kim answered the door and smiled. “I’m glad you guys could make it I’m really sorry about lunch I just got tied up.” “Its okay Kim I’m just happy your alright Kobi and I were worried about you.” “Speaking of which where is Kobi.” “Oh right he’s right here.” Heather pulled Kobi out of his hiding spot and put him on her shoulder. “So Kim wasn’t lying you really do have a little guy smuggled into this land.” “Wait who said that.” Said Heather looking around. “I did and your gonna be in a lot of trouble.” The owner of the voice stepped into view and was no other than Angel. “Who are you and how did you find out about Kobi.” “So Kobi is what you named it and my name is Angel I forced Kim to tell me at first she didn’t want to talk but after awhile she finally cracked.” Kim looked away ashamed unable to form any words or any emotion at all. “Look why can’t you just let this slide Kobi isn’t hurting anyone he just wants to stay here with me I adopted him after his village was destroyed. Kobi knew that her lying and debating wasn’t going to work on Angel he could tell her true malicious intent since she sounded just like the king when he tried to send Kobi on missions that were likely to get him killed. “Oh I don’t plan on hurting him or you well that is on one condition.” “What do you want just name it and ill do whatever I can to give it to you.” Angel smirked and looked at Kobi. “I want him.” Angel said reaching for Kobi. Heather picked Kobi up off her shoulder and held him tight and close to her. “No I’m not gonna let you take him I don’t trust you I don’t know what you are gonna do with him.” “Look its either you hand him over to me or I hand both of you over to the high council and you will never see him again he will be put in prison or even worse killed and we wouldn’t want that now would we so just hand him over and it will make things easier on both of you.” Angel said with her hand out ready to take the prince. Heather looked at Kobi and started to cry. She hugged him tightly and closely seemingly trying to make him fuse with her so she wouldn’t have to give him up. “Come on now hurry up I don’t have all day.” Heather looked at Kobi again gave him a big kiss. “I still don’t want to give him to you.” “Heather its okay ill be able to fend for myself besides I know how happy you are to finally find a place where you fit in.” “Oh how heroic and noble he’s a regular Knight isn’t he.” Angel said with a mocking laugh. Heather placed Kobi in Angels palm and looked away. “I’m so glad you see things my way now I’m off take care and don’t worry ill make sure I take good care of my new pet.” Angel said as she walked off with Kobi in her hand.
